Welcome to Lemm's Earthworm Jim Fansite
Scissors, glue and too much free time since 1998.
It’s Earthworm Jim’s 20th Anniversary this year! Hoping to join in with the celebrations and do a bit for it. It only comes once every 20 years!
It took a few years, but I’ve finally made a new layout for Rocket Worm! Had to put this on hold so many times, but last month a window of time finally opened up…it’s taken a month to get this far! Arrgh. Been working hard colouring in Doug TenNapel’s next Graphic Novel Nnewts since the beginning of 2013, so it hasn’t left much room for this nonsense.
The aim was to design a better layout for this site, and retire the old one. It was at least seven years since the last one was made.
It needed to be colourful, scream Earthworm Jim! and not have a bubble anywhere…no bubbles! My only regret is that I didn’t get a hamster on this one, but there’s always next hamstober. It was also important that it would be easier to update and better for people to browse on a functionality level.
My twin sister Christine helped with this one on some of the code stuff, as well as pointing out Twitter Bootstrap. That made that process a lot easier than trying to code something completely from scratch. Big resolution for a big honking image at last…and for smaller ones It’s responsive and mobile friendly too, which is great.
I have a little tweaking of things on the main site to do because of the new style, but the hard part is done.
I hope you like it! Please let me know what you think.
The Armikrog. video game that’s being made by some of the original Earthworm Jim and The Neverhood developers (as well as other really cool people) will be getting released later this year in July.
You can still get access to the private developers community and Chumpy Cam from the official Armikrog. site too, which is worth doing if you are interested in what they are getting up to behind the scenes!
Tommy Tallarico’s New Video Games Live Level 3 is out! The music is absolutely mind-blowing.
Doug TenNapel’s Tommysaurus Rex graphic novel just recently got picked up for a movie! That just got announced yesterday.
And I think that’s it for now…happy belated 2014!2 Comments
Sally the Blind Cave Salamander and I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
20th anniversary of Earthworm Jim next year!
Thank goodness for that…Thank you to everyone who sent a hamster in! I hope it amused people. These winter months can get so gloomy…sometimes you just have to try and have a bit of fun.
I was going to draw one last one, but I haven’t been too well. So…yeah. I feel a little disappointed with myself actually. I will at least draw things that are NOT hamsters from now on though.
Here are all the hamsters I made this month!
Here are all the lovely guest hamsters by Robert Barnett, Robbie Douglas, Peter Harrington, Inkan and Mike Dietz!
Finally, a last reminder about Doug TenNapel’s second Sketchbook Archives Kickstarter – You can only get a book if you pitch in for one – it’s a limited print-run sort of thing, so please don’t miss out on that.
Well…day fifteen almost didn’t happen…
But enough of that…here we go. Not a painting or a drawing today – something a little different! I really needed a rest yesterday…unfortunately that rest involved Minecraft: the ultimate in obsessive compulsive disorder sand-box gaming.
At first, I thought nothing of it. Oh I’ll just potter about a bit…make a herd of wild horses, a teapot house…explore a little. It’s like pixel art in 3D. I don’t like the Creepers or zombies, so I turn them off.
Before I knew it, I got to building a giant Earthworm Jim riding a charging hamster.
I’ve been trying to catch up on work over the weekend…then today was a little hectic, so I didn’t get a hamster done.
Luckily two awesome friends sent hamsters in! Thank you Inkan and Peter.
This is Peter Harrington’s Hamster!
In other news, some really cool add-ons, tiers and stretch goals have been added to Doug TenNapel’s Sketchbook Archives book two Kickstarter!
